Our project began in late 2007 under the guidance and direction of Maratika  Rinpoche: Ngawang Jigdral Chokyi Wangchuk.
OUR AIM
Maratika Chimey Takten Choling monastery (literally “stable and immortal Dharma center”) is home to monks aged 13-41.  We have two monastic teachers (Khenpos).
Our monastery is located in the remote mountain region of east Nepal where the monks live a simple life without luxury. It is the provision of basic necessities of food, toilets, medical and dental care, clothing, dharma books and study materials that we seek to finance so that the monks can continue their study and sacred practice.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
As mentioned above, we seek to finance the provision of our monk’s basic necessities.  Any contribution, large or small will be very much appreciated. Even a donation of powdered milk, since our monastery does not have a cow, would be a blessing for us.
If you have a connection with some business, school, charity group or industry willing help us in some way we welcome their support. . Our monks of Maratika would love to make contact with children or adults from other countries.

OUR ESTIMATED COST PER MONK
(Including foods, cloths, medicine & books)
Per month US $50 Per year US $600

These costs have been calculated as close as possible to the actual costs. It is difficult to be precise as the situation varies per monk.
